Casualty

Our Casualty department offers its services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With its in-house doctors and nursing staff – trained in emergency medicine – along with specialized emergency department equipment, it offers rapid assessment and management of critical cases. This department also treats simple incidents that require no hospitalization.

 

INTENSIVE CARE UNIT - I.C.U

The Intensive Care Unit has a capacity of twelve fully equipped beds and a “state-of-the-art” technology (including remote monitors, ventilators, gas analysers, mobile echo cardiographers and mobile X-Ray machines) along with qualified and well trained medical personnel. It is supported by both the Bio-Medical and Radiology Department, making it probably
the best ICU in Cyprus.

Endoscopy Unit
Ygia Polyclinic Endoscopy unit, provides the entire rate of diagnostic and interventional therapeutic procedures, including Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, Sphingetoromy, Bronchoscopy, Cystoscopy e.t.c.
Clinical Laboratory

Directed by a specialist Physician, assisted by a group of expert Biochemists and Microbiologists, Ygia Polyclinic’s laboratory is equipped with advanced automated analysers, capable of performing any lab test required. Our laboratory participates in both internal and external quality control checks.

Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis, management and nonsurgical treatment of unusual or serious diseases.
Surgical Theaters

There are nine surgical theatres, supported by recovery rooms. The theatre staff includes six full time Anaesthesiologists and thirty qualified surgical nurses.
The operating rooms are equipped with computerized Ventilator, Monitors, mobile X-Ray machines, an X-Ray image intensifier for orthopedic procedures and various monitors for Laparoscopic, Arthroscopic and Endoscope procedures. An operating microscope is available for Microsurgery, ENT and Eye surgery.

There are also a number of surgical Laser machines.
Ygia Polyclinic has set a record for safety in the performance of the most complicated surgical operations.

General Surgery
General surgery, despite its name, is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, e.g. intestines including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland (depending on the availability of head and neck surgery specialists). We also deal with diseases involving the skin and hernias.
Dermatology
Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin and its diseases, a unique specialty with both medical and surgical aspects.
Cardiology
Cardiology (from Greek καρδίᾱ, kardiā, "heart"; and -λογία, -logia) is a subspecialty of internal medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The field includes diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.
Orthopedics

Orthopedic surgery or (orthopedics) is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital conditions.
