Dr. Thanasia is a graduate of the University of Crete School of Medicine, having completed her education in 251 General Airforce Hospital and Venizeleion General Hospital in Heraklion. She received her Cardiology Board Certification in Greece and also received accreditation in General Cardiology by the  European Society of Cardiology. She has worked in the Adult Intensive care unit of Heraklion University Hospital.
