Restoration of Aortic Valve with Self-Expandable Organic Transplant
The first surgical restoration of an aortic valve with self-expandable organic transplant took place in Cyprus, at YGIA Polyclinic, by the cardiac surgery team of Dr. Evangelos Sivitanides.
The patient is 64 years old and was suffering from aortic valve stenosis.
The valve took around 7 minutes to be placed and the patient’s postoperative course is extremely satisfactory.
