Dr Demetrios Asimomytis

Dr. Asimomytis was born in Piraeus. He graduated with honors from the Medical School of the University of Pavia in Italy and specialized in Thoracic Surgery at the 1st Thoracic Surgery Clinic of "Sotiria" General Hospital in Athens. He obtained his title as a Thoracic Surgeon in 2009 and assumed the leadership of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic at P. Faliro Clinic of the Athens Medical Group. In 2010, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical School of the University of Pavia, Italy. In 2011, he moved to Quebec, Canada, where he worked as a Thoracic Surgeon at the University Thoracic Surgery Clinic of the "Institute Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Quèbec - IUCPQ" specializing in Minimal Invasive Thoracic Surgery. During 2013-2014, he served as a Fellow at the Thoracic Surgery Clinic of "Sismanoglio" General Hospital. That same year, he was awarded another Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical School of the University of Athens. Subsequently, he worked as Director and Thoracic Surgeon at the Athens Medical Group, completing a successful postgraduate program in Thoracic Oncology at the Medical School of Athens in 2018. He specializes in performing complex lung and esophagus surgeries using both traditional and minimally invasive methods (VATS - video-assisted thoracic surgery).
