Dr Eleni Pourgouri

Dr. Pourgouri career spans significant roles in medicine and surgery, starting as a Pre-registration Doctor at Famagusta General Hospital, Paralimni, from October 2016 to April 2017. She later pursued her medical studies at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary, earning her Degree in Medicine with a distinguished diploma work on the Surgical Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis, achieving an excellent grade in June 2016. Subsequently, she joined St. Johannes-Hospital, Dortmund, Germany, where she served as a Resident Doctor in Abdominal Surgery ("Viszeralchirurgie") from November 2017 to December 2023, specializing in Colorectal Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery at the hospital's specialized center. During her residency, she also contributed as a Resident Doctor at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit from April 2020 to September 2020. Dr. Georgiou is proficient in German, fluent in English, and received her specialization title in Abdominal Surgery ("Viszeralchirurgie") from the Medical Association of Westfalen-Lippe, Münster, Germany, in February 2024. She has furthered her professional development with courses such as the Basic and Specialized Radiation Protection Course for X-ray use in 2021 and holds memberships in the Cyprus Medical Association and the Medical Association of Westfalen-Lippe, Münster, Germany.
