Health and Safety Policy

Ygia Polyclinic, being aware of its responsibilities and obligations to the  patients, employees, companions, collaborating physicians and stakeholders, is committed to adhering to internationally recognized standards for health, safety and the environment and to implementing best practices.

The organization's purpose is to provide all means through the guidelines and procedures that have been issued to create a sense of security in the workplace for its personnel.

To achieve the organization's overarching commitment, Environmental Management, Health & Safety Systems are implemented across the spectrum of its activities, following the principles of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, with which it is certified. Through the implementation of the systems, but also always in compliance with current legislation and other requirements regarding Occupational Health and Safety and the Environment, the aim is to achieve a framework of strategic objectives, some of which are:

  • Creating a work environment that ensures the Health and Safety of employees, patients, their companions, collaborating physicians and other partners.

  • Minimizing/eliminating workplace accidents and preventing occupational diseases.

  • Assigning responsibilities and providing facilitations, equipment and resources to achieve all the organization's objectives.

  • Continuously increasing the sense of security of employees and all those affected by the activities of the Hospital.

  • Eliminating any environmental impacts that may arise from the operation and activities of the organization, continuously aiming to protect the environment.

  • Continuous improvement of Management Systems and the health services provided to the patients of the Organization.

 

In order to achieve the above goals, the following actions have been put into effect:

  • Development of an action plan to ensure the necessary means for the more effective management of emergency incidents that may cause death, injury, illness, as well as environmental disasters.

  • Provision of ongoing training for all employees of the Organization, so that everyone is aware of their obligations for compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.

  • Implementation of a detailed risk assessment study of professional and environmental hazards, recording and analyzing findings within the hospital premises, covering all activities, along with clear proposals for measures to better control and/or eliminate these risks.

  • Establishment of a Committee for Environment, Health & Safety with representation from all departments of the hospital.

  • Definition of actions for the development of environmental culture and awareness within the organization.

 

The Environmental, Health and Safety Policy is known and understood at all levels of the hospital organization. The management of "YGIA” POLYCLINIC encourages employees of the Organization to submit realistic proposals aimed at strengthening the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. The Environmental, Health and Safety Policy is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure its ongoing suitability.
