Dr Yiannos Ioannou

Dr. Ioannis Ioannou is a renowned neurosurgeon of his generation, with expertise in spinal surgery and innovative minimally invasive microsurgical techniques.

His journey began at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki's Medical School, where he distinguished himself with a scholarship for his academic performance. After graduating, he continued his training at the University Clinic of AHEPA Hospital, specializing in Neurosurgery and laying the groundwork for his dedication to this field. His thirst for knowledge and pursuit of new innovative techniques led him to Germany, where he specialized in spinal surgery, focusing on minimally invasive methods and microsurgical techniques.

His academic activities include completing his doctoral dissertation in collaboration with the University Clinic of AHEPA, and enhancing his scientific training in Neurosurgery. Upon returning to Cyprus, Dr. Ioannou took on the role of director of the Neurosurgery Clinic at Achillion Hospital, where, with vision and dedication, he laid the foundations for the clinic's advancement. His contribution to the medical community continued when he took over as director of the Neurosurgery Clinic at Polyclinic Health, where he continues to lead today.

With over two decades of experience in the most demanding and complex neurosurgical procedures, Dr. Ioannou has established a reputation as a surgeon who combines high scientific knowledge with human sensitivity.

From 2019 to 2023, he served as president of the Cypriot Neurosurgical Society, contributing to the development and enhancement of the Neurosurgery specialty in his country.
