Dr Theodora Demetriou

Dr. Theodora Dimitriou BSc MSc MBChB MRCP CCST (UK) graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 2000. She also holds a BSc in Medical Science from the University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College, and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from King’s College, obtained in 1996.

She then specialized in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and pathology at the University Hospitals of Liverpool, Manchester, and St. Thomas' University Hospital in London.

She completed her studies in Hepatology at the King's Hospital Liver Unit in London. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Royal College of Physicians and has held the specialty of Gastroenterology/Hepatology and Pathology since 2010. She worked as a gastroenterologist/hepatologist at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London until 2011, when she returned to Cyprus. From 2011 to 2019, she worked as a gastroenterologist/hepatologist at the Paphos General Hospital. Since October 2019, she has been working as a gastroenterologist/hepatologist in the private sector.

Ms. Dimitriou is one of Cyprus' representatives in the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation and is an elected member of the Cyprus Gastroenterology Society.

Her special interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, hepatology, capsule endoscopy, and therapeutic endoscopy.

She is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the Royal College of Physicians, the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation, as well as the Cyprus Gastroenterology Society, the Hellenic Gastroenterology Society, and the Cyprus Society of General Pathology.
