Pulmonologist – Tuberculosis Specialist | Critical Care Medicine Specialist
Dr. Maria Karagianni is a Pulmonologist–Tuberculosis Specialist with subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine. She graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Ioannina in 2001 and obtained her specialty qualification in 2010 from the 5th Pulmonology Clinic of “Sotiria” General Hospital for Diseases of the Chest of Athens. At the same hospital, she completed her subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine in the Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit of the Respiratory Failure Center, earning the corresponding specialist title in 2016.She has extensive clinical experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors, having served as a Consultant Pulmonologist/Critical Care Specialist at major private hospitals in Greece, including HYGEIA Hospital, Euroclinic of Athens, and Euromedica “Athenaion”. Since November 2020, she has served as a Senior Consultant (NHS Grade A) in the New Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit of “Sotiria” General Hospital for Diseases of the Chest of Athens.In addition, Dr. Karagianni has significant academic and scientific activity. She has received further training in the Study of Sleep Disorders, holds Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, and has taught Anatomy and Physiology at a public Vocational Training Institute (IEK). She has also participated in international research protocols, presented and published work at international and Greek medical conferences, contributed chapters to medical textbooks on Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and delivered lectures at scientific conferences.
