Dr. Nikolaos Mourtzis

Dr. Nikolaos Mourtzis was born in Ierapetra, Crete, in 1966. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1992 and specialized in Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgery at the Onassion Cardiac Surgery Center and Evangelismos Hospital. Since 2002, he has been working in the private sector.

Dr. Mourtzis has extensive experience in adult cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting (both on a beating heart and with cardiopulmonary bypass), heart valve replacements and repairs, and cardiac tumors. Additionally, he has significant expertise in thoracic aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, and the latest methods for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) via transfemoral or transapical access, in collaboration with associate cardiologists
