Dr Stefanos Koffas
General Surgeon Stefanos Koffas graduated in 2015 with a Merit degree from the Medical School of Ioannina.
After completing his military service, where he served as an army doctor, he began his speciality training in General Surgery at the 4th Surgical Clinic of the General Hospital “Evangelismos”, the largest hospital in the country. During this time, he completed the postgraduate programs entitled “Surgical Anatomy” and “New Technologies in Digestive Surgery – Minimally Invasive Techniques – Bariatric Surgery” at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. At the same time, he began his PhD thesis at the National University of Athens, entitled "Correlation of Clinical and functional parameters with electrophysiological findings in anterior rectal resection syndrome". During his training in General Surgery, he took part in many surgeries covering a wide range of specialities, with the largest percentage of them concerning the pathology of the colon and rectum.
Dr Koffas participated in many educational seminars and conferences concerning Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Colon & Rectum at an IBD school, while at the same time, he served as an instructor at a Laparoscopic Simulator Centre.
Regarding Emergency Medicine, he is certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), in which he is also an instructor, as well as Definitive Surgical Treatment of Trauma (DSTC).
Since October 2023, he has been active in Cyprus in collaboration with surgeon Dr. George Malietzis.
