Dr Charis Antoniou

Dr. Charis Antoniou is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and the founder of Paphos Eye and Laser Clinic at Saint George Private Hospital in Paphos, Cyprus. He graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School in 2015 and subsequently completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology in Greece and Cyprus, obtaining his medical specialization in 2021. Following the highest score nationwide among resident ophthalmologists, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology, organized by Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital. In 2021, he also obtained the European Specialty in Ophthalmology and became a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO).

Dr. Antoniou has a particular interest in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma, vitreoretinal disease, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His continuing professional development includes participation in major European and international ophthalmology meetings, including ESCRS, EURETINA, the European Board of Ophthalmology, the Hellenic Vitreoretinal Society and the Cyprus Ophthalmological Society. His surgical training has included advanced phacoemulsification, intraocular and transscleral suturing, management of ocular trauma and blepharopalsty. He provides comprehensive ophthalmic exam, minimally invasive treatments and eye surgery to patients in Cyprus and internationally.
