Dr. Fountzoulas is an internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Shoulder and Elbow surgery, with training from renowned institutions in the UK, France, and Italy.

He has completed advanced fellowships, notably under Prof. Pascal Boileau at the Nice University Hospital in France, obtaining a profound knowledge in the diagnosis and surgical management of Shoulder pathologies. He furthered his expertise with 2 yearly fellowships at SWLEOC and North Tees University Hospital in the United Kingdom, honing skills in arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and trauma cases of the upper limb. To further advance his skills, he had completed another fellowship in lower limb surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the UK, focusing on hip and knee replacements.

His post-graduate degree In Orthopaedic engineering from Cardiff University focused on the biomechanics behind orthopaedic implants. Dr. Fountzoulas also completed a CMI-accredited Level 7 Certificate from the BOA Future Leaders program aimed at improving leadership in the NHS. Since 2017, is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and actively contributes to the British Orthopaedic Association and British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

Dr. Fountzoulas continues his practice as a consultant in upper limb surgery at Milton Keynes University Hospital, in the United Kingdom. His interests include advanced trauma, arthroplasty procedures, and cutting-edge arthroscopic techniques. He also uses 3-D CT planning in shoulder replacements to improve patient clinical outcomes.
