REACCREDITATION OF YGIA POLYCLINIC WITH "ADVANCED CYBER ESSENTIALS PLUS"

We are thrilled to announce that YGIA Polyclinic has successfully achieved reaccreditation, for the ninth consecutive year, by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) with the prestigious Advanced Cyber Essentials PLUS standards.

This reaccreditation follows several months of meticulous preparation and a rigorous several weeks audit, completed on 20th January 2025. During this process, our entire IT network, systems, and infrastructure underwent comprehensive evaluation against the latest cybersecurity benchmarks. Achieving Cyber Essentials PLUS demanded an extensive and sophisticated assessment of our IT security controls, including internal and external vulnerability scans and simulated penetration attacks to assess the resilience of our cybersecurity defences against evolving threats.

This year, the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials PLUS standards were closely aligned with ISO 27001:2022, the international standard for Information Security Management Systems. This alignment enabled us to implement globally recognized cybersecurity and information controls, reinforcing our risk-based approach to safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring operational integrity.

We are particularly proud to note that YGIA Polyclinic is the only hospital in Cyprus to have achieved and maintained the Cyber Essentials PLUS accreditation. This accomplishment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to cybersecurity excellence and the protection of all our stakeholders.

This achievement demonstrates to our patients, Associated Doctors, suppliers, and all stakeholders that we prioritize the security of their information and continue to meet the highest standards in cybersecurity compliance.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our IT Department for their hard work and all our personnel for its cooperation and invaluable contributions to this significant milestone.
