Dr Konstantinos Fountzoulas is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practising in Cyprus at Ygia Polyclinic Private Hospital. His clinical focus includes shoulder, elbow and upper-limb conditions, elective surgery and complex orthopaedic trauma.
His international training includes a one-year shoulder fellowship under Professor Pascal Boileau at Nice University Hospital in France. He also completed two separate one-year shoulder and elbow fellowships: one at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC) and one at North Tees University Hospital in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he completed a one-year lower-limb fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, gaining experience in hip and knee arthroplasty and trauma.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University and completed the BOA Future Leaders Programme, obtaining a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership. He previously worked as a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
His clinical interests include rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, frozen shoulder, arthritis, sports injuries and upper-limb trauma. Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include non-operative care, arthroscopy, joint replacement or trauma surgery.
His approach emphasises clear explanations, shared decision-making and appropriate rehabilitation and follow-up.
