Dr Savvas Hadjiphilippou

Dr Savvas Hadjiphilippou is a respected Consultant Cardiologist, recognised for his patient-centred approach and expertise in advanced cardiac imaging and heart failure.

He graduated with Distinction from King’s College London Medical School before completing his specialist training across North West London. His academic excellence was acknowledged with a highly competitive National Institute for Health and Care Research Academic Clinical Fellowship in Cardiology at Imperial College London, leading to subspecialty training in Heart Failure, Transplant Cardiology, and Imaging at the world-renowned Harefield Hospital.

He was subsequently appointed as a substantive Consultant at both Harefield Hospital (now part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust) and Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has particular expertise in echocardiography (transthoracic and transoesophageal) and cardiac MRI, and his practice encompasses all aspects of cardiology, including:

  • Hypertension
  • Palpitations/arrhythmias,      including atrial fibrillation
  • Shortness      of breath (dyspnoea)
  • Dizziness      and collapse
  • Syncope
  • Chest pain      (angina)
  • Coronary      artery disease
  • Lipid      disorders
  • Heart      failure
  • Valvular      heart disease

Dr Hadjiphilippou has served on the European Association of Preventive Cardiology Young Community Core Committee. He was the Cardiac Imaging Lead for Hillingdon Hospital, where he established the Trust’s echocardiography service, and he has published peer-reviewed articles focusing on cardiovascular disease prevention.

A passionate educator and researcher, he has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. Through teaching the next generation of doctors at Brunel Medical School and Imperial College London, Dr Hadjiphilippou remains at the forefront of cardiology, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest medical knowledge and techniques.
