Dr Spyros Economou
Dr. Spyros Economou is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Traumatologist who graduated with the highest honours (summa cum laude) from the University of Debrecen Medical School. He completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at leading orthopaedic and trauma centres in Germany, including Sana Kliniken Duisburg and St. Vinzenz Hospital Dinslaken, where he developed extensive expertise in acute musculoskeletal trauma, complex fracture management, arthroscopic surgery, cartilage restoration, ligament reconstruction, and minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Spyros Economou trained at a certified German Endoprosthetic Centre (EndoProthetikZentrum), gaining extensive experience in modern primary hip and knee arthroplasty, perioperative care, and evidence-based treatment according to German quality standards.
In addition, Dr. Spyros Economou developed extensive experience in adult and paediatric traumatology, managing a wide spectrum of fractures and musculoskeletal injuries. His trauma expertise is complemented by certification as an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider.
Dr. Spyros Economou has completed numerous national and international postgraduate training programmes, including multiple AO Foundation courses in fracture management and advanced trauma surgery, as well as specialised arthroscopy training through the German Arthroscopy Association (AGA). In addition, he actively contributes to clinical research and quality improvement through participation in the German Arthroscopy Registry (DART).
